Holy Cross Catholic Primary School Mickleham logo reveal28 June 2021

The logo for Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, Mickleham, has been revealed at a special morning tea with the school’s foundation families.

The future students and their families enjoyed Holy Cross cookies with an edible logo in the colours of purple, grey and green, as the school celebrated another important milestone ahead of its opening for the start of the 2022 school year.

Principal Mark Miatello said the three core elements of the logo – a heart, cross and hands – represented the Holy Cross motto of love, hope and unity. I think the logo is very successful in representing the key messages of the cross, as well as the hills represented through the heart in the logo being unique to the area of Mickleham’, he said.

‘It represents how we will all be journeying together at Holy Cross. Our hero colour will be purple as a regal colour and the colour of Christ’s passion: a very significant colour in the life of the Church. The grey represents the ash with which Catholics mark themselves with the cross during the season of Lent, and the green is the colour of hope.’

Mark was pleased to be able to reveal the logo on the last day of Term 2, after spending the term meeting hundreds of families at his ‘Meet the Principal’ sessions, where he has been sharing the school vision, masterplan, and his approaches to teaching and learning.
